GROUND CONTROL WEAPONLESS INSTRUCTORS COURSE

Fee: $186.00

DESCRIPTION:  This forty hour five day course is designed to instruct the currently certified weaponless defense instructor in techniques that address the altercation patterns of physical conflict management. This course has heavy emphasis on ground control techniques. It also deals with multiple opponent confrontation and standing attacks. Students will understand current case law regarding use of force and evaluation of departmental use of force policy.

PREREQUISITES:  Must be a full-time/reserve peace officer. Must be currently certified POST weaponless defense instructor. All students who are not members of the Alameda County Sheriffs Office must sign a liability waiver.

PRESENTATION HOURS:  This is a one and a half unit, 40-hour college credit course starting at 0800 each day.

CERTIFICATION:  POST Plan II & STC Certified.

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT:  Students are required to wear suitable workout clothing during class, and supply their own gun belt, handgun, handcuffs and impact weapons.

RESERVATIONS: This course is limited to 30 students and reservations will be made on a first come, first serve basis.
