WEAPONLESS DEFENSE INSTRUCTOR COURSE

Fee: $357.00

DESCRIPTION:  This course is designed to instruct new and potential instructors in the methodologies and practices associated with teaching defensive tactics. Students will develop and be able to demonstrate psychomotor skill proficiency in suspect control, arrest techniques, and searches. Instruction and proficiency demonstration will include handcuffing movements, gun retention/take away, and escape tactics. Emphasis will also be placed on instructing students in the elements associated with circuit training and physical conditioning evaluation programs.

PREREQUISITE:  Must be a full time/reserve peace officer, or correctional officer. Must be in excellent physical condition and free of any prior injuries that may be aggravated by intensive physical training. All students must also sign a liability waiver when attending any manipulative skills training courses conducted at the Regional Training Center.

CERTIFICATION:  POST Plan II & STC Certified.

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT:  Students are required to wear suitable workout clothing during class and supply their own gun belt, handcuffs, and impact weapons.

RESERVATIONS:  This course is limited to 30 students and reservations will be made on a first come, first serve basis.
